    Step 2 – Book an appointment

    Making appointments with the embassy, consulate or visa application centre is generally free and can be done yourself.     Step 4 – Visit the visa application center

    On the day of your appointment:

    1. Arrive early
    2. Take all your documents
    3. Provide biometric information – to be taken by the visa official during your appointment

    Step 5 – Track your passport

    Once you have submitted your application, you can track its progress. Go to BLS International’s website and click on “track application:

    Step 6 – Receive your visa

    Once the application has been processed by the consulate and your passport has been returned to BLS International, you will need to bring your receipt and acceptance proof with you to collect your documents. You can choose to have your passport sent to your home address by courier for an extra cost. See BLS International’s website for additional services.

    The decision will be either:

    1. Approved – you will find your visa inside your passport
    2. Rejected – this could have been for many reasons

    Rejection reasons include:

    1. No bank statements – you must provide bank statements, so the consulate can see you have a salary and can afford your trip
    2. Passport issued in the last 20 years – your passport must have been issued within the last 10 years. If not, you must get a new one before applying for your visa
    3. Fake documents – don’t be tempted to do this. Not only will it result in a rejected application, but it could affect your chances of traveling anywhere in the future
    4. No residence permit – non-Nigerian residents must provide proof that they are living legally in Nigeria

    Reasons For Schengen Visa Rejections

    Before you get your documents ready, refer to the checklists on BLS International’s website. You must submit everything that is required if you are to avoid a rejected application. You should submit original documents as well as photocopies.

    1. Passport – valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from Spain. It must contain at least two blank pages and it must be issued within the previous 10 years
    2. Two color photographstaken within the last six months and be standard passport size. See full photo specifications
    3. A photocopy of passport data page and all pages of the passport with visas
    4. Two Schengen visa application forms – one in Spanish and one in English. Both must be signed
    5. Travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death during your trip. Insurance should cover all Schengen countries for an amount of 30,000 Euros
    6. Flight booking to include the flights between Spain and other countries (if applicable). If you intend to travel to different Spanish and Schengen cities you must also include train booking, bus booking etc
    7. Accommodation – A hotel booking covering all the period of your stay or a letter of invitation from the person you are visiting (if applicable)
    8. Proof of your travel plans as a tourist (e.g. a prepaid sightseeing trip, museum tickets, football tickets, etc.)
    9. Original Registry Marriage and Birth Certificate if you travel with your family
    10. For children traveling alone – an Affidavit (legalized by Nigeria Foreign Affairs Ministry) from parents allowing child to travel together with a passport ID page copy of both parents
    11. An Introductory Letter indicating the purpose of the journey and providing details about it
    12. Proof of Income –  documents indicating that you have sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to Nigeria
      If employee: Letter of Appointment, Leave Letter, Salary Slips of the last 6 months, bank statements of the last 6 months; If retired: Proof of retirement & bank statements x 6 months; If you are a business person: All original documents relating to the company (Certificate of Incorporation or Registration, Memorandum of Articles of Association, Tax Clearance Certificate, etc.) & bank statements x 6 months
    13. Non-Nigerian applicants must demonstrate that they are residing legally in Nigeria

    COVID REGULATIONS

    Entry Requirements

    All passengers arriving in Spain by air or sea, including those arriving in transit to other countries, must complete a Health Control Form before departure and obtain their QR to present it at boarding and at health controls on arrival in Spain:

    From June 7th 2021, if you come from a country/area considered at risk for COVID-19, you must present a certificate or document certifying vaccination, an active infection diagnostic test (AIDT) or recovery from COVID-19.

    Passengers from third countries who meet the requirements to enter Spain may travel by presenting any of the following certificates, as long as they meet the same conditions as the EU Digital COVID Certificate:

    1. a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19,
    2. a negative diagnostic test (NAAT or RAT) performed within 72h (NAAT)/48h (RAT) of arrival,
    3. a certificate of recovery from COVID-19
