    Collect your passport

After the application has been accepted by the embassy, you will be given a receipt (payslip) with the date of collection of the passport. The visa should be collected by you or a representative, who should present an authorization letter that has been signed by you.

    The decision will be either:

    1. Approved – your visa will be inside your passport
    2. Rejected – this would have been for a specific reason and you can appeal the decision within 14 days

If your application has been accepted, the visa will be attached to one of the pages in your passport. If it is rejected, you will be told the reason why. There are many reasons why a visa application is rejected including:

    1. Travel insurance not valid – you should ensure the travel insurance has a minimum cover of 30,000 Euros for certain risks, covers the duration of your trip and covers you in all Schengen countries to be valid
    2. No invitation letter – if you are being invited to Poland, you need to provide an invitation letter
    3. Passport issued over 10 years ago – your passport is valid if it was issued with the last 10 years. If it wasn’t, you need to obtain a new one before applying for your visa
    4. Photos do not meet specifications – the photos you provide must meet certain specifications (see above)
