    If you are planning on going to Estonia, you will need a visa. This applies if you are a Filipino national or are currently living in the Philippines on a permanent basis.

    There is no embassy for Estonia in the Philippines. Instead, the Embassy of Denmark represents Estonia when it comes to processing visa applications. However, the embassy does not accept applications, so you will submit your application to VFS Global in Manila or Cebu.

    You can apply up to 6 months before your departure date. The embassy processes applications in 15 days, so you cannot submit your application any later than 15 days beforehand, otherwise, it may not be processed in time.

    Go to VFS Global’s home page again and click on: ” How to apply”:

    You will be directed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Denmark. Click on: “Register” to create a new account:

    Then, you can log in to complete your application:

    The process above includes:

    1. Registering as a user
    2. Filling in the application
    3. Paying the visa fee
    4. Printing and signing the cover letter

    Once you have finished, you need to print off and sign the cover letter from ApplyVisa.

    Step 3 – Make an appointment

    Making appointments with the embassy, consulate or visa application centre is generally free and can be done yourself.     4. You will need to register as a new user
    5. Log into your account and make a suitable appointment day and time

    Step 4 – Gather your documents

    You can check what documents you need to prepare on VFS Global’s website. Please note that each type of visa has different requirements, so make sure you have the correct paperwork before you submit your application.

    You should also prepare photocopies as well as providing the original documents, so don’t forget to do that too!

    Documents include:

    1. Schengen visa application form – filled out and signed
    2. One passport-sized photo with white background and not older than 6 months. Check out the complete list of photograph specifications 
    3. Passport –  valid for at least 3 months after your departure and has at least 2 blank pages. Passport must also have been issued within the last 10 years
    4. Photocopy of passport – bio page and used pages including any visas and stamps
    5. Photocopies of your previous passports for the past 3 years – bio page and used pages (with visas and stamps)
    6. Proof of relationship – birth certificate, marriage certificate, photographic evidence of relationship (if applicable)
    7. Evidence of host’s residency status – passport and/or residence permit
    8. Official VU2 form – this is an invitation form if you are being invited to Estonia by a person or company
    9. Invitation letter stating name, address, relationship to host and duration of stay
    10. Proof of financial means  – bank statements for the last three months, stamped and signed by the bank. You must provide proof of pocket money in your own name, even if your trip is fully sponsored
    11. If employed – payslips for the last 3 months, employment contract, bank statement for account through which salary is paid. Employer letter stating position, length of service, salary and duration of approved leave of absence, photocopy of company ID
    12. If self-employed – company registration documents, company’s bank statement, tax clearance receipt, etc. SEC registration and registration certificate from DTI and latest income tax statement
    13. If a student – proof of enrolment from the school and school ID, certification of reservation/enrolment. If traveling during school year, a certificate of leave of absence from school should also be submitted
    14. Round trip airline ticket reservation travel agency voucher, itinerary etc
    15. Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen-countries and to cover the entire duration of the stay in the Schengen area. Cover for a minimum of EUR 30,000 for all risks e.g. accident, illness, medical emergency evacuation, including COVID-19 etc
    16. For minors – consent letter with parent’s passport
    17. Photocopy of marriage certificate and birth certificates of your children (if applicable)
    18. Proof of accommodation – hotel booking (s)
    19. Photocopies of own means and properties (if applicable) – land titles or proof of car registration with official receipt

    If you’re planning to obtain your flight reservation for visa without paying for the ticket, all you have to do is follow the 3 simple steps below:

    1. Visit the Visa Reservation website to choose the right package
    2. Submit the travel details and make the payment online
    3. Receive flight itinerary in email

    Step 5 – Finalise your application in person

    On the day of your appointment, you’ll need to take the following documents:

    1. Your signed cover letter from ApplyVisa
    2. Supporting documents
    3. Passport

    You will also have your biometrics taken. Your fingerprints will be collected and you will have a photograph taken. If you have done this within the last 60 months, you do not have to do so again.

    Once you have submitted your application, it will be sent to the embassy. The embassy may contact you to ask for more documents or to attend an interview where they may ask you questions about your application.

    You can track your application and find out what stage it is at. Go to VFS Global’s website and click on: “Track your application” and click on the link:

    Step 7 – Collect your passport

    VFS Global will contact you once they have received your passport back from the embassy.

    Your application will be either:

    1. Approved – you will receive your passport with a visa sticker. It is your responsibility to check that the information on your visa sticker is correct. If there are any discrepancies, you should tell the embassy immediately
    2. Refused – you will receive a refusal letter with your passport, explaining the reason behind the refusal. You will be told whether you have the right to appeal

    Visa applications get refused for many reasons including:

    1. Invitation letter missing – if you are being invited to Estonia by someone, either as a private individual or in a company, you must provide an invitation letter
    2. Travel insurance does not cover the correct requirements – your travel insurance should cover all risks, like accident and sickness, so you should check the details before you submit your application
    3. Passport was issued 12 years ago – your passport must have been issued no longer than 10 years ago. If not, you should get a new one before applying for a visa
    4. The embassy is not clear that you will return home – you must make it clear to the embassy that you intend to return home before the visa expires. You can do this by providing evidence that you have ties in the Philippines like a house and/or job to return to
