If you are currently living in the Philippines and you are a citizen of this country, then you will need to apply for a visa to be able to visit Denmark.
The Embassy of Denmark in Manila processes visa applications, but you will submit your application to VFS Global in Manila or Cebu.
You can apply up to 6 months before you intend to travel to Denmark, but no more than 15 days before. This is because it takes 15 days for a decision to be made. If you apply less than 15 days before, there may not be enough time for your application to be processed.

Step 1 – Know your visa

Step 2 – Apply and pay online
On VFS Global’s website, click on: ” How to apply”:

You will be directed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Denmark. Click on: “Register” to create a new account:
Then, you can log in to complete your application:
As part of this process, you will:
- Register as a user
- Fill in the application
- Pay the visa fee
- Print and sign the cover letter
You must complete your visa application and pay the visa fee online. Once you have finished, you need to print off and sign the cover letter from ApplyVisa.

Step 3 – Make an appointment
Making appointments with the embassy, consulate or visa application centre is generally free and can be done yourself. Step 4 – Gather your documents
Before you start to gather your documents, make sure you know what the requirements are. Each type of visa has different requirements. If you submit the wrong paperwork or you fail to provide everything that is needed, then your application could be rejected! There is a document checklist on the embassy and VFS
You should also prepare photocopies as well as providing the original documents, so don’t forget to do that too!
Documents include:
- Schengen visa application form – completely filled out and signed
- One passport-sized photo with white background and not older than 6 months. Check out the complete list of photograph specifications
- Passport – valid for at least 3 months after your departure and has at least 2 unused pages
- Photocopy of passport – bio page and used pages including any visas and stamps
- Photocopies of your previous passports for the past 3 years – bio page and used pages (with visas and stamps)
- Proof of relationship – birth certificate, marriage certificate, photos as evidence of relationship
- Evidence of host’s status – passport and/or residence permit
- Official VU2 form – this is an invitation form if you are being invited to Denmark by a person or company
- Invitation letter stating name, address, relationship to host and duration of stay
- Proof of financial means – bank statement showing movements in the last three months and stamped and signed by the bank. All applicants have to provide proof of pocket money in their own name, even if your trip is fully sponsored
- Round trip airline ticket reservation travel agency voucher, itinerary etc
- Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen-countries. To cover the entire duration of the stay in the Schengen area and must cover a minimum of EUR 30,000 for all risks e.g. accident, illness, medical emergency evacuation, incl. COVID-19 etc
- For minors – consent letter with parent’s passport
- Photocopy of marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Photocopies of birth certificates of your children (if applicable)
- If currently employed – employer letter stating position, length of service, salary and duration of approved leave of absence, photocopy of company ID plus pay slips for the last 3 months, employment contract, bank statement for account through which salary is paid
- f self-employed – SEC registration with attached present Articles of Incorporation and Personal Income, registration certificate from DTI and latest income tax statement plus company registration documents, company’s bank statement, tax clearance receipt, etc
- If a Student – proof of enrolment from the school and school ID. If you will be going on a holiday during summer break, submit a certification of reservation/enrolment to prove that you are enrolled for the next school year. If travelling during school year, a certificate of leave of absence from school should also be submitted
- Proof of accommodation – hotel booking (s)
- Photocopies of own means and properties (if applicable) – land titles or proof of car registration with official receipt
If you’re planning to obtain your flight reservation for visa without paying for the ticket, all you have to do is follow the 3 simple steps below:
- Visit the Visa Reservation website to choose the right package
- Submit the travel details and make the payment online
- Receive flight itinerary in email
Step 5 – Finalise your application in person
On the day of your appointment, go to the visa application center that you specified when you applied online. You will hand over the following:
- Your signed cover letter from ApplyVisa
- Supporting documents
- Passport
You will also have your biometrics taken. Your fingerprints will be collected and you will have a photograph taken.
Once you have submitted your application, it will be sent to the embassy. The embassy may ask for further documentation or they can ask you to attend an interview where they may ask you questions about your application.

Step 7 – Collect your passport
Once the embassy has processed your visa application, you will be contacted by VFS Global.
Your application will be either:
- Approved – you will receive your passport with a visa sticker. It is your responsibility to check that the information on your visa sticker is correct
- Refused – you will receive a refusal letter with your passport, explaining the reason behind the refusal. You will be told whether you have the right to appeal

Visa applications get refused for many reasons including:
- You have forgotten to include all the documents – it is very important to check and check again that you have included everything before you submit your application
- Your passport is not valid – if your passport is not valid in any way, you should get a new one before applying for a visa
