If your visa has been approved, you will find it inside your passport. If it has been rejected you have the right to appeal within 15 days. You will be notified of the reason why your visa application has been rejected.

    Common rejection reasons include:

    1. Lack of funds – you must be able to afford your trip and you must provide evidence that you can do so
    2. No birth/marriage certificate – some types of visa may require you to provide proof of family ties, so you must provide a birth or marriage certificate if this is the case
    3. Evidence of enrollment not included – if you are a student, you must provide evidence that you are enrolled in a UK school, college or university
    4. You already have a Schengen visa – if you have previously applied for a Schengen visa, it may still be valid, so you should check this before you apply again
