    If you are a US citizen you do NOT need a visa to travel to Estonia. However, if you are not a US citizen by birth, you need to apply for a visa. You can do this from the United States if you are permanently living in the country and you have legal residence.

    Step 3: Get your documents ready

    Everything you need to know about how to apply for your Estonia visa application and the supporting documents you need to get ready is available on the consulate’s website, so it’s a good idea to take a look before you begin this step. If you fail to comply with ANY of the requirements, it could result in your application being rejected.

    Any foreign documents should be translated into English and/or Italian and legalized.

    2. A recent passport-size photograph on white background, full face, and the front view glued to the application form. Original photos only.
    3. Valid passport plus 1 copy of the page with photograph and dates. It must be valid at least 3-6 months after the end of your trip. Also, your passport must not be older than 10 years and it must have at least two blank pages to affix the visa;
    4. Permanent Residence Card OR other US immigration document allowing re-entry into the US. Valid for at least 3 months past trip
    5. Student F-1 visa and valid I-20 
    6. Driver’s License or State ID as proof of residence
    7. Copies of previous Schengen Visas (if applicable) including entry/exit stamps
    8. Copies of all the visas for the current trip
    9. Letter of employment – to include job role, time in employment, salary and approval of time off
    10. Business papers or license plus most recent tax return (self-employed)
    11. School letter stating full-time enrollment (students)
    12. Pension certificate or other proof of pension income (retired)
    13. Proof of financial means – 3 x bank statements
    14. Affidavit of Support (if applicable for dependents)
    15. Schengen Travel insurance to cover the entire period of travel with a minimum coverage of €30,000 ($50,000) for hospitalization, emergencies, evacuation, and repatriation
    16. Proof of lodging for the entire trip – confirmed hotel reservation or official itinerary OR rental agreement OR Host declaration
    17. Confirmed flight reservation for a round trip showing complete itinerary
    18. Proof of participation in any type of event
    19. Proof of family ties
    20. Nulla Osta (Entry clearance)
    21. Marriage/birth certificate
    22. Letter of invitation from individual, business etc.
    23. Parental consent form (minors)
    24. Pre-paid, self-addressed envelope required in the event that you cannot collect the visa in person (USPS Express mail or Priority Mail only) including a tracking number
    25. Declaration for mailing passports

    If you’re planning to obtain your flight reservation for visa without paying for the ticket, all you have to do is follow the 3 simple steps below:

    Step 4: Submit your application to the Italian Consulate in Miami

    On the day of your appointment, arrive at least 25 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Remember to take your application and all your supporting documents, and don’t dress too casually.

    If this is your first time applying for a Schengen visa, you will have to provide biometric data to the consulate. This means a scan of your fingerprints and a photograph.

    Step 5: Receiving your visa

    Once a decision has been reached about your visa application, the consulate in Miami will return your passport by mail. You need to provide a self-addressed, prepaid or stamped envelope. This must be a USPS Express Mail prepaid envelope. FedEx or UPS envelopes are not accepted.
