If you are from any other country and are currently resident in Canada you DO need to apply for an Austria visa.     Step 2: Make an appointment

    Making appointments with the embassy, consulate or visa application center is generally free and can be done by yourself.     3. Passport – must be valid for at least three months after the date of departure from Austria or the Schengen zone, at least two empty pages and issued no more than 10 years ago
    4. Copy of passport data page and all records of the past 3 years of any previous entries or visas for Europe until now
    5. Residence permit or Canadia visa (multiple entry) valid for at least 3 months after departing the Schengen area
    6. Travel itinerary/airline reservation. Please note, the purchase of the airline ticket is not required at time of application (the embassy may request proof of purchase at any time)
    7. Proof of travel insurance or health/accident insurance – to cover a minimum of €30,000 (approx., 50,000 CAD) in all Schengen countries for entire duration of visa
    8. Proof of financial means – 3 x bank statements; letter from employer stating expenses paid, confirmation of pension or any other proof of income. If no proof of financial means can be presented, a person with residence in Austria can submit an Electronic Declaration of Commitment (EVE) or the inviting company can submit a General Declaration of Commitment for the applicant
    9. Proof of accommodation – rental agreement, hotel reservation, student dorm reservation
    10. Letter of invitation plus residence permit
    11. Proof of enrolment in university with confirmation of course
    12. Letter from employer with details of role, wages etc
    13. Proof of participation in any type of event with invitation letter
    14. Proof of the purpose of the trip – work contract or confirmation of study etc
